Who We Are

Seems self-explanatory…. but here it goes.

We are a fishing company. A unique fishing company that travels Canada in search of the best crowds, the best people to hear the best fishing stories and gear those people up with cheeky, quality made Jerk It Apparel and gear for the next fishing trip.

How it all began…

Our Story

Imagine 2019… during the COVID 19 pandemic…

Our government has forced us to only spend time with our loved ones and the people in our own circle… in this story, it’s with our kids… in our boat.
We set out as a family in the boat on the lake in our rebuilt, restored boat. Christine and I are helping the kids get their lures hooked on and cast their lines into the quiet, Alberta lake. I’m just sitting patiently, waiting for her to change hooks or to tell me to move the boat for what is supposed to be a relaxing time with the family taking in the scenery and doing my best to enjoy my time. As I watch the struggles and with no fish actually being caught, my desire and need to get my own line in the water are growing more by the minute. Both Christine and are watching the youngest struggle with his line, not performing any of the actions that would entice the hungry fish in the lake and finally both Christine and I let out a phrase, together in unison, with conviction… “Jerk It”. As we both look at each other, with huge grins on our faces, our eyes lock and at that moment, we knew. We knew that this would be the start of a fun adventure. Who cares anymore what the kid was doing. We let the kids do their thing that day, “fishing”, swimming, relaxing and we spent the next few hours and almost every waking moment since coming up with new, edgy sayings and new, fun products. Jerk It Fishing Co. is born!
